«Dear Colleague,
Repair of the aortic valve has become an attractive alternative to replacement. In order to achieve reproducible results it is important that the surgeon understands the key concepts that are specific to reconstruction of the aortic valve in its variants. In fact, it is the application of these principles that has changed the character of these procedures from art to science.
We have been dedicated to this field for more than 20 years and continuously refined the repair concepts through systematic research. We are happy to share our experience in this workshop. which we have designed in a didactic way to allow the participants to reproduce the techniques. In more than 10 years of teaching we have been able to identify the key aspects that will be emphasized in a condensed and comprehensive way throughout the workshop. It is our explicit goal to bring most of the participants to the point where they can reproduce the techniques.
In the upcoming course we have the exciting pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Magdi Yacoub as a pioneer in this field.«
